The services outlined below allow you to register a domain name and transparently simulate a high priced domain website, at one low price (about $50 per year depending on selected services). To be used as a temporary or permanent alternative to high priced web hosting.

We agree to maintain an updated list of these terms and conditions, including changes, additions or removal of services on-line at this location. We agree to provide advance notification to existing customers of changes to terms and conditions.

By submitting a form or by sending an email request for services, you have read this agreement and agree to be bound its terms and conditions.

CA Internet Domain Name Registration (Dot.ca) is a Canadian Internet Registration Authority Certified Registrar and domain registration is governed by standards of performance and responsibility for domain registration service in this document and domain registry service standards https://www.cira.ca/registrant-agreement https://www.cira.ca/policy/legal-agreement/registrar-agreement. This agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

Domain registration service and free search and update utilities for the .ca domain are provided. We agree to process your domain name application or update request expeditiously and with care. When selecting multiple years of domain ownership, you are billed a discounted rate which is payable in full upon registration. Ownership will automatically be renewed for you on your renewal anniversary month-day for the ownership term (number of years) you select. We cannot accept responsibility for the approval of your domain name. Registration fees are non-refundable. Submitting a registration application does not guarantee domain name approval.

Even though there has been a change in the .ca domain central registry, please be assured that this will not affect our dedication to provide you with reliable service.

Fee Services

All prices quoted are in Canadian funds.

When your account is set up, you receive a password which will allow you to make changes to your domain registration, your DNS, your redirected URL address, your Card Link web page or forwarding EMAIL address at any time. An unlimited number of changes can be made throughout the year at no additional charge. If you move hosts or email providers, there is no additional charge to keep your domain name forwarded to the new website or to keep the email for your domain flowing to the new address. You may cancel redirection, link and forwarding services simply by making changes to your DNS and re-instate service by changing DNS back again.

It is your responsibility to 1) complete website forms accurately, 2) keep the information current via update forms, 3) make sure you have the legal right to register and use the domain name(s) registered, 4) agree to central registry terms and conditions found here: https://www.cira.ca/registrant-agreement, and 5) pre-pay non-refundable domain registration fees. In the event of a domain name dispute, you agree to be bound by the Domain Name Dispute Policy found here. If you need assistance in closing your account with us before it expires, for legal or other reasons, termination service is available.

We will do our best to provide uninterrupted service 24 hours a day. In the event of our inability to maintain service for which you have paid, we agree to refund a prorated amount of fees paid, equivalent to remaining months of service.

We are not responsible for any liability, loss, damages, claims, or causes of action arising out of or related to your use of these services.

We give attention to your privacy and security a priority. You may use our free whois search utility to check for domain name availability and browse our website without disclosing any personal information. We do not use cookies to store personal data nor do we link non-personal information stored in cookies with personal data. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations. We do collect the personal data you may volunteer when completing a form for service and this information is used to validate domain ownership or to contact you to provide you with details about your service and in advance of service expiry to give you the opportunity to renew. Personal information is not shared with any third party except as required to provide service or as required by law. You are notified in advance by registrar@dot.ca if the use of your personal information changes and your objection to any changes will be respected. We maintain a whois search with a minimum of publically available domain registration information accessible by anyone including your name, phone number and email address. If you do not want your phone number to display in a whois search, email registrar@dot.ca immediately following domain name registration and it will be removed.

Our order forms collect both personal data (such as name and contact details) as well as credit card information through a secure server. Passwords are available (to recall your personal information, not credit card information) online by email via http://www.dot.ca/passwords.html. If your email address changes before you are able to obtain a copy of your password, email registrar@dot.ca with the new email address. We have security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from: unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorised modification, unlawful destruction or accidental loss. All our employees and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors' personal data. You may access a copy of your personal information via http://admin.tcns.com anytime by providing proof of your identity. Under no circumstances will we refuse to allow you access to your information or to change it. If you have any concerns about your security or privacy please contact registrar@dot.ca.

Your order is confirmed by email. You are billed by email. Payment is due upon receipt of order/registration confirmation. Credit Cards are billed off-line through a secure server within 5 days of order confirmation and transactions will appear on your statement as TransCanada Network Services. You are protected by a 30 day money back guarantee on domain activation services. Domain registration is non-refundable. If paying by cheque or money order, please send pre-payment to TransCanada Network Services, 6007-2100 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6S 5A5. Dot.ca uses the financial transaction services of TransCanada Network Services to process orders.

If there are any discrepancies between the amount we invoice and the amount displayed on your credit card statement, an adjustment is arranged immediately in favour of the invoice amount. Call (416) 652-6418 or email ca-billing@tcns.com.

There is a $25.00 service charge for each returned cheque. When payment is submitted by credit card, you have the legal right to use the card or are the owner of the card and will not dispute the charge. There is a $50.00 service charge for disputed credit card charges. If you need assistance during or after account cancellation, there is a $50 exit fee. There is no charge if you do not want your account kept active and let your domain expire without renewing it.

Accounts are set up following order/registration confirmation email. Accounts will be terminated for non-payment of fees.

Your domain name is linked to the URL or IP address of the domain you specify, anywhere on the Internet. Your domain name will remain in the browser’s location bar. To visitors, it will look like you have your own high-priced website. The fee for this service is $50. When selected as a domain name registration option, the service is included in your domain name registration fee at no additional charge for one year. When DomainMail and DomainLink services are purchased at the same time as domain name registration, the combined fee for service is $75.

Additional domains or urls including your domain name, redirected to your website are available as an optional service. Each domain set up will display your website. There is an additional charge of $25 per year for each additional domain linked to your website.

Your domain’s email is forwarded to an existing email account, anywhere on the Internet. Those sending you email need only know the domain email address you provide. The header information of the email you receive will let you know to whom the email was originally addressed. The fee for this service is $50. When selected as a domain name registration option, the service is included in your domain name registration fee at no additional charge for one year. When DomainMail and DomainLink services are purchased at the same time as domain name registration, the combined fee for service is $75.

Individual domain email accounts are available as an optional service. Each account set up will forward mail addressed to a specific email address at your domain to that persons’s existing email account on the Internet. There is an additional charge of $10 per year for each forwarding address.

Your domain name is linked to a business card style web page. Your domain name has an immediate Internet presence with your company information. Customizable by color, font style and logo. May be updated anytime. The fee for this service is $50. When selected as a domain name registration option, the service is included in your domain name registration fee at no additional charge for one year. When DomainMail and CardLink services are purchased at the same time as domain name registration, the combined fee for service is $75.

Link multiple domains to different URL or IP addresses anywhere on the internet. A domainNet domain name starts with the domain name prefix of your choice and ends with the domain name you link with DomainLink service (above). So if your domain name is gregsmarket.ca, you may choose domainNets like apples.gregsmarket.ca or pears.gregsmarket.ca. You may also choose a hierarchical domainNet as http://www.gregsmarket.ca/apples/ Useful for establishing and displaying links to other websites. To visitors, it gives the appearance that all pages are rooted in your domain. The fee for this service is $50 for up to 3 domains.
